Election Time a UCPS!

On Thursday 4^th July in school, we held our mock general election. In the lessons leading up to the vote the children have been leaning about democracy, the rule of law and elections in our county as part of PSHCE. While the children understand that they are currently too young to vote we spent time instilling in the children that their voices and their opinions matter. The pupils were all very mature when discussing the different parties and what they were promising. This led to some great discussion, with the need to protect our environment and Breakfast Club places for all being particularly hot topics!

The school council ran the election and all children were given a vote to place into a school ballot box.
